The Emergency Response Group (ERG) is a subset of the full PWAG membership.
The Emergency Response Group (ERG) was established to strengthen regional coordination and ensure water agencies can effectively respond to emergencies and disasters. By working collaboratively and sharing costs, member agencies are able to improve preparedness, reduce response time, and enhance system resilience.
- Emergency planning & coordination
We develop comprehensive emergency response plans and facilitate coordination among member agencies to ensure everyone is ready to act quickly and efficiently during a crisis. - Training and exercises
Through regular training sessions and simulated exercises, ERG members build practical skills, test response procedures, and strengthen team readiness. - Disaster response & mutual aid
ERG coordinates a mutual aid network that enables agencies to share personnel, equipment (including PWAG radios and portable generators), and expertise, while also providing guidance, resources, and support during emergencies to minimize disruption and maintain water service. - Recovery planning
We assist agencies in planning for post-disaster recovery, including infrastructure assessment, resource allocation, and strategies to return to normal operations as swiftly as possible.
